Part 1: Installation and Category Creation

1. Install the component through the Joomla Installer, and choose Ignite Gallery from the components menu.

2. It is recommended you create a new category first. Even if all your galleries will be in one category, you will have more control later on if you create a category, instead of leaving all the galleries in the top level.

3. Fill out the above fields, and hit the Save button.

4. When you have finished making your categories you will see a screen like the one above. Choose the New Gallery button.

Part 2: Gallery Creation
5. Fill out the fields for the new gallery, they are explained below. You can change the default values that are displayed when you make a new gallery in the component paramaters. This way you don’t have to enter the same info every time.

Part 4: Managing Comments and Ratings

8. Click on the comments button to view, unpublish or delete comments.

9. Click on the ratings button to view or delete ratings.

Part 5: Making a Menu Item

10. To make a menu item, go to your Joomla menu, choose new, and choose Ignite Gallery. There are 3 options here, link directly to a gallery, link to a category, or link to a page where a front-end user can make a gallery. Front end gallery creation is covered later.

11. Choose your category (or gallery if you are linking directly to a gallery) and hit Save.

Part 6: Paramaters
12. Choose the paramaters button to set the following paramaters:

Part 7: Front-end Uploads

13. If you enable front end uploads in the config paramaters, you can make a link to a page where a front end user can manage their galleries (see step 10). You can also use the community builder plugin to link to the page.

14. A front-end user can click on the new gallery link and make a gallery. Only the options you have enabled in the config params are displayed here. If you do not let front end users choose a category, the gallery will go into the default category set in the config paramaters.

15. Once a user has made some galleries, their galleries will show up on the list above. They can change the options they set when making the gallery by clicking on the gallery name. If another user views this same page, the galleries created by that other user will show (i.e you can only see the galleries you have created). Unregistered guests can not view this page.

16. A user can click on the manage photos link to upload photos. Zip uploads are disabled in the front-end for security reasons.
